Things To Do: 60 Minutes Secret and FREE Cycling Route from Gardens by the Bay MRT!

Spanning over 101 hectares of reclaimed land in the Central Region of Singapore, the award-winning Gardens by the Bay is a “must-see” attraction for locals and tourists alike. It's supersized and futuristic-looking trees accompanied with the exotic flora and fauna presents the plant kingdom in an entertaining yet educational manner.


Yet, many may hesitate to visit Gardens by the Bay due to it being “expensive” or “inaccessible”. But… Good news! If you don’t already know, the new Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) that connects Woodlands North all the way to Gardens by the Bay is opening for passenger service on Monday, 13 November! 🥳 What more, there are bicycles available right outside the Gardens by the Bay station (TE22) for you to explore the stunning nature there on two wheels.

From Gardens by the Bay MRT Station, exit from Exit 1 and head over to bus stop 03369. There is a bicycle parking area near the bus stop for you to pick any of your favourite SG Bike bicycle. Rebalance Your Mind, Body and Soul at the Serene Garden

Inspired by the minimalist concept of Japanese Zen gardens, the Serene Garden allows visitors a breather from the hustle and bustle of the city life while being connected to nature. Be at peace and admire the elegant tropical trees 🌴 as well as the exotic blue Niyodo rocks there that blends in well with the minimalist landscape. ⛰


💡 Note: Cycling is not allowed within Gardens by the Bay. Please follow instructions to dismount and push the bicycles to view these attractions.



Stand in Awe of the Supertrees at Supertree Grove

Just a walk away is the famous Supertree Grove that houses futuristic-looking Supertree structures that rise up to 50 meters above ground! Fun fact: The tallest Supertree is about the height of 16-storey building! 😱 These sustainable vertical gardens is home to 162,900 plants of over 200 species 🦟🌸🍀 Don’t forget to snap some photos at this iconic place! 📷



Be Wowed by the Trash-Sure Sculpture

From Trash to Treasure (Trash-Sure), how cool is that? As you cycle along the perimeter of Gardens by the Bay, you’ll come across a magnificent Sumatran Tiger sculpture that is built entirely from trash collected by UBS employees. Located at the SG50 Lattice of Gardens by the Bay, this key attraction serves as a reminder for each of us to play a part to ensure a sustainable future.



End Your SG Bike Trip at the Bicycle Parking Spot outside The Shoppes (MBS)

Continue cycling towards Marina Bay Sands and to the bicycle parking spot located just outside The Shoppes (Near Black Tap). End your trip here by parking the SG Bike neatly, pushing down the red lever on the smart lock and scanning the parking QR Code within the yellow bicycle parking box itself 🅿️🚲.



Watch the Spectra Light & Water Show at Marina Bay


Thereafter, walk over to the Event Plaza at the Promenade at Marina Bay to wind down the day with another one of Marina Bay’s free attraction – Spectra Light & Water Show 😍.

Be immersed and visually stunned by this 15-minute outdoor extravaganza, which combines colorful visual projections, dancing water fountains, music, and special lighting effects to tell a Singapore story. Spectacular display of waterworks ⛲ and lighting 💡 against the backdrop of the Singapore skyline 🏙️? What a view!


Tip: Try to get there a little earlier than the showtime to find a seat or a place to stand before it gets too crowded! ⌚ ⏰
